The Art of Logo Design - Off Book PBS

"A logo is an extension of who you are or what you do."

Logos surround us in digital and physical space, but we rarely examine the thought and artistic thinking that goes into the design of these symbols. Utilizing a silent vocabulary of colors, shapes, and typography, logo designers give a visual identity to companies and organizations of all types. From cave painters to modern designers, artists throughout history have been reducing the complex down to simple ideas that communicate with the world.

    The Autum Epitaph Cruiser

I'm not much of a bike rider, but this is amazing!

Limited to a production of only 12, the Epitaph Cruiser has fitted special wheels that house four tires.

With a steel frame finished with black powder coat, a beautifully handcrafted pure leather seat, aged leather handles and frame insert, custom-made alloy rims and each seat has a laser imprinted Roman numerals on it to identify the serial number of the particular bike, this has to be one of most luxurious bicycles ever made.

It will set you back US$2950.

The System 1-2-3 Lounge Chair by Verpan

These are the chairs I want to get for my office.

The System 1-2-3 Chair was originally designed by Verner Panton in 1973. The series originally comprised 20 different models with variations in seat height, arm rests and feet.

The Beatles Illuminated: The Discovered Works of Mike Mitchell

One of my favourite photographs of the Beatles.

The above photograph of The Beatles was taken by photographer Mike Mitchell at a news conference before the group gave its first US concert, two days after their Ed Sullivan appearance. The concert photos, taken when the photographer was just 18 years old, will be auctioned by Christie's in their sale "The Beatles Illuminated: The Discovered Works of Mike Mitchell," in New York.

The Daft Punk Orchestra (Trinity Orchestra)

This is the best video I have seen all month.

This video features a Daft Punk medley performed by Trinity Orchestra, the only fully student run orchestra in Ireland.

The medley includes One More Time, Aerodynamic, Da Funk, Superheroes, Around The World, Crescendolls and Digital Love.

Comedians as Comic Book Superheroes by Old Red Jalopy

Great work by Old Red Jalopy who have made a series of old school comic book covers in support of the first annual Comedy Awards on Comedy Central.

Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Bill Murray Steve Martin and Will Ferrell all received the comic book treatment.

How great would it be to see the full comic book series produced? I would buy them.
